Vintage Oval Convex Portraits
are available again!
Dot Brogan and husband JW Bowen have combined their talents in order to bring to the public the return of the beautiful vintage oval convex portraits. These portraits were popular during the late 1800's and early 1900's, and are often seen in antique stores. There is nothing like a nostalgic family oval convex photograph, and if necessary, beautifully restored to make family history come alive. Tattered, torn, scratched and faded pictures transformed into an heirloom that can be passed down generations; your clients will proudly display these novelty photographs over a mantel or on a wall.
Professional Photographers

Earn extra profit in house by doing some of the work yourself.
You can produce modern day color photographs or digital restorations on canvas cloth and apply them to our oval convex mounts.
Do your own digital imaging restorations saving the high cost of hiring an artist.
We can provide you with the oval convex mounts making it easy for you to do the rest.
If you already have a studio artist and choose to let us do the printing, we offer fiber based portraits that can be hand colored by your in house artist, saving you money.
Brogan Bowen Company has designed three options to work with the professional Photographer:
Option One
Send us your files on a disk formatted in .tiff, or send us a finished negative, and when necessary, a sample print for matching purposes, and we will print your choice of a sepia toned or black and white portrait on fiber based paper, mounted into a beautiful Vintage Oval Convex Portrait, returned to you ready for you to frame.
Option Two
Photographers with a black and white lab can make their own prints. Send us your fiber based sepia toned or black and white unmounted prints made on Luminous R paper. We will mount them for you into a beautiful Convex Portrait and return them to you ready to frame. Your printed photographs must be on fiber based paper. Format must be 16x20 on a piece of 20x24 paper.
Option Three
Do your own restorations digitally, or color retouching, if necessary, on a new modern photograph, print your hard copy out to canvas cloth. Buy your oval convex mounts from us, and we will give you instructions for applying the cloth to our mounts yourself. Our mounts are 100% Rag Board.
